So, I owe you all a post. Here it is;
So for the last 3.5 weeks, I've been doing orientation. Where do I even start. The first week of training was stellar! At the end of the week we all went out and partied (I always wanted to experiance being a real student, and whoa, it was awesome). I got totally wasted and licked a seriously HOT gay guy - alot. OMG. Embarassing but awesome. Wez thought it was hilarious. I made some really REALLY awesome friends - feel so close to them :)
Then orientation started (programme 1), and our world's FELL APART, by Wed we were EXHAUSTED and could possibly have murdered each other. Tensions were high!!! So week one of orientation done and dusted - we all go home for a rest and a chill.
Now first two days of further training before programme 2a&b. We were TENSE, then orientation started again, and we chillaxed abit - our team jelled thanks to the intense schedule. By the end of programme 2a&b, we were stuffed. i.e. this Tuesday (8th)!! We're coming together Friday for debrief and drinks. Through everything, I still love this bunch, and they have made my university experiance AWESOME. I WILL BE DOING THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!! (Plus I get paid 4 grand!).
Ok, that brings me to today. A nightmare of note. O-week nearly killed me. Had a full day shift on Jammie Plaza for Varsity Newspaper in the HEAT (in a tiny t-shirt obviously designed for a chinese midget). MELT. BUT I got to see Bri-Bri (my sexy gay-guy I love to perve over - and he knows it - bastard! lol).
So that brings me to the line up for the next couple of days. Subbing Thurs 10th, Debrief + bday party Fri 11th, Ratanga party Sat 12th, full subbing day Sun 13th, 1st day of Lectures and final subbing Mon 14th, Paper released and newsgathering Tues 15th, Wez comes back midnight Wed 16th, Wesley's bday Thurs 17th, possible party for Wez Fri 18th, Varsity writer's workshop and Mom's bday Sat 19th, Barnyard theatre with parents (for mom bday) on Sun 20th, brother-in-law bday Mon 21st, friend's bday Tues 22nd, subbing Thurs 23rd, friend's bday party Fri 25th, V bday party Sat 26th<3 (and another friend's bday!), full day subbing Sun 27th, etc You get the idea. Ow, my brain hurts now.
Only freaking out a little.
Plus super fun admin shit at home such as a little matter of black bin THEFT. Yes, some fucker stole our BIN!!!!!!!!!!! WTF. And FML. Had to sort that out plus two outstanding bills (polite smses of hatred from the respective companies).
Good news is I am now seeing psych. at student wellness for 115 BUCKS! vs. R1500 or something. Still on meds and things look good...
So that's THAT.
Except, did I forget to mention I have classes in there somewhere too? Oh and I joined dayhouse, WineSoc and RainbowUCT.
I must be insane.
Over and out.

Newly Married-ness
Soooo...
My much awaited blog!
OK, so my life updates can basically be slotted into two categories:
1. Newly wedded bliss
2. Work/study related confusion
1. The joy is still firmly in place on my nuptials :-)
It is by far the best decision I have made, ever really, I think... I love being a wife and bringing Jeremy coffee when he is working and I'm lying on the bed watching Gossip Girl on the laptop.
This is generally my happiest times.. and usually only happens when I am off work.. I think that's a plan to look into hehe.
But seriously, other than some normal niggly fights because I have PMS and he has maleness, or I have to chase bugs in the kitchen... We're adjusting pretty well to each other :-)
And I have discovered the best thing in the whole wide world. The one thing that can completely change the outcome of my day and my mood... SNUGGLING!!!!
Its just like the best thing EEVVEERRR!!! OMG!!!
I cannot really say it more strongly haha. But when I am eating my cereal in the morning, and my hubby wraps his arms around me and smiles (with his eyes still closed), I feel like I am experiencing a little bit of heaven.
So yes, I'm happily married and looking forward to catching up to the other llama anniversaries :-)
Then point 2: The confusion...
So the last I may have told you - I want to become a English prof.
Now this is the most awesome sounding idea to me, BUT it will take 7 years of studying and may set back the course of my life for a few years in terms of house and family planning etc.
After some advice and chats with llamas and old tech girls.. there is another option I am looking at.. to lecture within my own field, but with a twist: History of design.
these are the reasons why:
- It was my best subject at varsity
- I find it pretty interesting
- It is the equivalent to English lit, but for design
- I will only have to study 2 or 3 years to be qualified to lecture.
So i am currently looking into the exact course i need to study and still looking for a new job where i can manage part time studies, but i may have more of a solid direction to venture into.
in the meantime i kind of just have to bite the bullet and accept i can't just up and leave my current job (as much as i want to) and i need to be a grown up about it and deal.
Life could be worse....
OK nuff said ;-)
But i agree with swordwaif - This is gonna be the year of the LLama!

Die Kaaaaaaaapse!!!!
Hello my dearies!!!
well well well, here we are together again :) More together than before methinks. Yes! It is as foretold! Jason and I are finally moving to Cape Town!! Heeehawwww!!!!
OK, so if you couldn't tell that I am excited, I am excited. We are so happy. Jason doesn't show it so much, but I can tell :P
Here is how it went down: Basically 3 weeks ago, Jason saw that a position just like his become available in Cape Town. I was lounging in bed on this particular Sunday morning with my laptop on (where else?) my lap and a cat begging for attention, when in comes the man, all the time yelling that there ws a position available. Then he just looks at me. I know what we are both thinking. We just got back from our holiday and here comes the thing we have been waiting for. We have just started work. Oh my gosh, could this be it? So I just tell him, go for it!
After a week of nail biting, and talking to the boss, and finding out that the cape town boss would actually be someone Jason knew from the days of DOS nerds, he gets an informal interview. Another nail biting weekend....Monday.....no answer. Niether of us are sleeping and we are tense like guitar strings. The whole week we have been talking about 'if' we move to Cape town, what would we need to do etc.
And finally, Tuesday! Yes, he got the job! Its finally happening :)
From there it was all just logistics, the practicalities of moving. After much help from Llama mama and Silly monkey, we finally found a place, and if all goes well, it shall be ours by the 1st of march :P It is just next to checkers on Durban road in Bellville. We are just waiting for the credit check to clear. I haven't seen it, but apparently its gorgeous. 90 square metres, a duplex, with a balcony and pet friendly to boot :) and so close to all of you guys and my mom and malls etc :) I will be looking for a job when I get there, since I cant go to interviews while i am ehre :P Things will be a little tight for the first couple of months, but I am confident that jason and I will do just fine :) Worried about Noobie though. Cats, what can you do?
Anyway, so yeah, thats the news so far :) Its gonna mean that my first Valentines day with the man wont be terribly awesome, but at least we will be there for LLama Birthdays :) and in five months, its our one year........and who knows then? :P
OK so that's me for now.
lots of love
